Open Positions

Open post doc position - Data Centers 2030

A postdoctoral research position is available with a focus area of data centers analysis with emphasis on systems energy consumption and multi-criteria location problem at the national scale. The position will support development of national level location problem taking into account types of data centers anticipated to be installed in Israel by 2030, the direct energy use, water use, emissions, climate zone, and indirect (i.e., upstream and downstream) sustainability impacts associated with data center information technology (IT) equipment and building infrastructure.

This research will further explore operational, technology, and policy interventions for reducing environmental and operational impacts over different temporal and spatial scales and forward-looking scenarios under different sets of conditions. These analyses will also support and improve physics-based models for quantifying the energy-water nexus of data centers under different climate, cooling technology, and operating conditions.

Open post doc position CDR and IAM

A postdoctoral research position is available for modeling emerging technologies, with focus area of carbon capture and removal (CDR) technologies within Integrated Assessment Models (IAM).   We seek a researcher who is familiar with different CDR technologies, understands the concept of prospective LCA, and can apply new methods for evaluation of the projected impacts of the full-scale technologies' development using IAM.
